Media fraternity, AAPSU conduct donation camps for Wakka fire victims

ITANAGAR, Dec 27: A sum of Rs 1, 18, 671 was collected on the second day of donation camp organized by the Arunachal Press Club (APC), Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) and Arunachal Electronic Media Association (AEMA) at Akashdeep Complex, Ganga, here for the victims of Wakka fire mishap on Tuesday.
Total amount collected in two days camp is now Rs 1, 88,031 (One lakh eighty-eight thousand thirty one rupees).
It is worth mentioning here that the donation camp was organized under the active guidance of APC president Chopa Cheda, APUWJ president Amar Sangno and AEMA president Mukul Pathak.
More than 150 people from all walks of life, including political leaders, students, house wives, senior citizens and kids generously made contributions towards the cause. Apart from cash, more than 200 pieces of garments and blankets, shoes were donated by the people for fire victims.
Parliamentary Secretary for Education Bamang Felix, PRO to CM Jambey Khochy, senior members Tugo Gangkak, Haa Tatu, president, Society for Tribal Affairs & Reformation Norbu Sonam, United Charity Chairperson Sangge Droma and many more contributed generously. Itanagar Buddhist Cultural Society (IBCS) president Sonam Tenzing announced 10 bags of rice in aid of Wakka fire victims.
Meanwhile, the first day of two-day voluntary donation camp organized by All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) in aid of Wakka fire victim at various locations in capital complex, viz Nirjuli, Naharlagun and Itanagar ended successfully with people from all walks of life coming out in large number to donate. In the first day, it is informed that AAPSU has collected an amount of Rs 1,23,668.
Surprisingly, most the people who donated for fire victims are non-tribals, AAPSU informed.
AAPSU president Hawa Bagang has appealed the denizens of the Capital Complex to come out in large number and donate generously in the second day of the camp tomorrow also.
Speaking to the media persons, AAPSU general secretary Tobom Dai said that the inordinate delay by the state government to announce any special package for grieving villagers of Wakka till now is intriguing.
"Misfortune of such large magnitude should be aptly handled by the government so that people can feel the presence of governance," added AAPSU GS.
The AAPSU further appreciated the initiative taken by media fraternity, APWWS in bringing succor to the fire victims of Wakka. Meanwhile, AAPSU informed that a team of its members led by its Executive Editor Puman Wangsu reached Longding on Tuesday and distributed first aid like Rice, Blanket, etc to Wakka fire affected families.
Meanwhile, the Christian Revival Church (CRC) in Daporijo, one of the prominent churches of Upper Subansiri district and a unit of APCRCC (Arunachal Pradesh Christian Revival Church Council) organised a donation collection drive for Wakka fire victims. A solidarity prayer session was also held during Christmas Day service on Sunday.
Khonsa Town Women Welfare Association led by Tirap ZPC cum Chairperson WWA Sontung Bangsia provided relief materials to the fire victims of Wakka village on Monday.
Interacting with the villagers, Tirap ZPC Sontung Bangsia asked them to maintain distance while constructing dwelling houses to avoid frequent fire accidents while saying that Wakka, Dadam and Lazu circles are prone to fire accidents.
She further urged the PRI leaders, student communities and church leaders to mobilise awareness campaigns in those villages so that they do not build their houses too close, a DIPRO report said.
Centre to assist Arunachal to achieve status of 100pc ODF state
ITANAGAR, Dec 27: The Union Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation will provide the 'best' financial assistance to Arunachal Pradesh to help achieve the status of cent percent open defecation free (ODF) state.
The Centre agreed to partner with Arunachal Pradesh after it came to know during a meeting between Secretary of Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation Parameshwaran Iyer and Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh Shakuntala Gamlin in New Delhi on Monday that the State has already achieved around 72% of the target.
To achieve the target, a workshop is proposed to be held under the chairmanship of Secretary DWS in the second week of January, 2017 wherein all the DCs and officials will participate.
The ministry will also consider creation of 'world class' facilities in 2-3 selected tourist areas and also try to help new wayside composite facilities along important roads.
The percentage of district wise IHHL coverage in Arunachal Pradesh at present is West Kameng (98.94%),Changlang (90.79%),Tirap (85.45%), Lohit (79.27%), East Kameng (78.29%), West Siang (75.72%), Lower Subansiri (74.76%), Tawang (74.67%), Anjaw (73.49%), Upper Siang (72.32%), Upper Subansiri (71.03%), East Siang (70.56%),Papum Pare (62.42%), Lower Dibang Valley (60.54%), Kurung Kumey (57.1%), Dibang Valley (56.82%).
‘SBI strictly adhere to laid down procedures’
ITANAGAR, Dec 27: Rs.1748 Crore has been deposited in various SBI banks in Arunachal till 24th of this month. Informing this SBI in a release stated that these are figures collected from its 26 branches located in Arunachal Pradesh. They further claimed that deposit witnessed a marginal increase of Rs 153 Crore during the demonetization period of 45 days.
SBI further informed that all the relevant records were minutely verified while accepting deposits and so far no illegal transactions have been reported from any of its branch in the state. "Being the premier Bank of India while rendering numerous banking services to the state we strictly adhere to the laid down systems and procedures in dealing with day to day banking activities with professional zeal and due diligence. Also during the entire demonetization period the co-operation, dedication and hard work rendered by the employees of the state Bank of India have been appreciated by the people, state government as well as the central government at various levels. Hence, we also expect such appreciation and encouragement from all concern including various media houses," the SBI stated.
Orgs conducts candlelight rally, demands CBI inquiry into Tama’s death

ITANAGAR, Dec 27: Various organizations including All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) under the banner of All Nyishi Students' Union (ANSU) and Haa Welfare Society (HWS) took out a peaceful candlelight rally here on Tuesday demanding justice for late Haa Tama.
Late Tama, 22, a B Tech student of Dr. K N Modi University in Tonk District of Rajasthan was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Jaipur recently.
Claiming that Tama was murdered in the hostel by the group of unknown students of room no. 303 of the same college on that fateful night of December 15 last, the ANSU strongly demanded for CBI enquiry into the alleged murder case and deliver justice to deceased family.
Earlier ANSU had submitted representation to the state Home Minister seeking free and fair investigation through CBI into the case, immediate registration of the case to arrest the students of Room no. 303, strict actions against the university Authority for their negligence and release of postmortem report and case status report from the police.
A huge number of people including family, friends and students participated in the rally which started from Akashdeep, Ganga and culminated at Tennis Court near I G Park.
The participants also prayed to the almighty God for eternal peace of departed soul of Tama.
Meanwhile, the Union submitted a representation to the State Home Minister seeking immediate intervention of state Govt in the case of unnatural death of late Haa Tama.
The memorandum reads, "On being heard the sad news of sudden and unnatural death of Haa Tama on December 15 last in the Hostel of K.N Modi University, Jaipur, a team of ANSU led by its Assistant Education Secretary Tame Mabu alongwith the family members of deceased visited K N Modi University, Jaipur on December 17 last to assess the ground situation of the cause of unnatural death. On being assessed the ground realities through the available witnesses, CCTV footages etc it could be logically concluded that he was murdered in the hostel by the group of unknown students of room no. 303 of the same college on that fateful night."
“However, to our utter surprises, neither the concerned police department nor the head of institution were cooperating with the family members properly,” the memorandum claimed, adding “in fact they were trying to hide the facts and declared Tama's death as natural without proper investigation”.
Referring to brief account of the case study and circumstantial evidences, the ANSU strongly demanded for free and fair investigation through CBI into the case.
Kaso urges all to stop encroachment
ITANAGAR, Dec 27: Parliamentary Secretary for Urban Development, Town Planning, Housing & Urban Local Bodies, Techi Kaso has urged all to stop rampant encroachment in the Capital Complex.
He said this while inspecting the sector roads at E Sector & IG Park area, here on Tuesday which is currently in a bad shape following encroachment by the local residents.
While interacting with the residents there, Kaso said that encroachment is a menace which hinders emergency service during fire incidents, earthquake and obstructs distribution of water through tankers.
Assuring to construct CC footpath and approach road, Kaso further appealed to the residents to maintain cleanliness in the said area.
Tagemang Tatak -- a self-made horticulturist

PASIGHAT, Dec 27: At a time when the government of Arunachal Pradesh is putting special attention to boost horticulture productivity in the hilly state, a rural farmer of East Siang -Tagemang Tatak has set a good example of self-employment through horticultural and allied activities.
Tagemang has developed multiple cultivations on one hectare of fertile land in his house compound at Sika Tode village, which is attracting attention of the horticulture experts of the district.
The rural farmer started his horticulture garden with rubber cultivation and gradually moved to coconut, beetle nut, banana, papaya, guava, lichi plantations besides growing spices and medicinal plants in a compact area. He further constructed a number of fish ponds near garden and achieves a good production of varieties of fishes every year.
Tagemang has claimed that he has developed the cultivation activities as 'Eco-friendly' plantation in order to increase natural vegetation in the area. His wife Oini Jamoh actively helps him.
While informing that he got some amount from Rubber Board, Tagemang appealed to the State's Horticulture department to assess his activities and give him incentive to achieve more.
Awareness prog. conducted on livelihood and nutritional security
DIRANG, Dec 27: In all 61 farmers from different parts of Dirang village participated in an awareness programme on promotion of livelihood and nutritional security of tribal farmers here on Tuesday.
During the programme which was conducted by ICAR-National Research Centre on Yak, the participants were briefed about scientific rearing of livestock for uplifment of their economic status and nutritional security.
Speaking on the occasion, Dirang GB, Tsering Dorjee urged upon the farmers to rear their livestock by using scientific methods as explained by the scientific staff of ICAR-NRC on Yak, Dirang to get maximum production.
Later, utility items like tarpaulin, steel buckets, gumboots, umbrellas, raincoats, animal feed and calcium preparations were distributed amongst the farmers. Three dustbins were also donated to the village for their community use.
The programme was also attended by Dirang Anchal Samiti Member, Pem Droima besides, Senior Scientist-cum-Coordinator of the programme, Dr. D Medhi, Scientist-cum-incharge Extension section, Dr. S Deori, Senior Scientist, Dr. V Paul and other technical staffs of the institute.
Orgs demands early completion of Miao-Vijoynagar PMGSY road
ITANAGAR, Dec 27: The Lisu-Yobin Development Society and Yobin Fundamental Rights Forum have urged the state Govt to take necessary steps for completion of Miao-Vijoynagar road under PMGSY as per the guidelines at the earliest.
In a representation addressed to the Chief Minister on Dec five last, the organisations also demanded an enquiry to find what out the reason behind delay in construction of all-weather road in the border area.
"We have submitted representations to the Govt on many occasions earlier demanding construction of road as per the guidelines, but our requests did not yield results," the organizations said. They lamented that due to absence of road link, the remote Vijoynagar circle remains underdeveloped in all fronts. The organizations further threatened to take the path of agitation after December 30 if their demands are not fulfilled at the earliest.
District planning committee meeting held
ITANAGAR, Dec 27: The District Planning Committee (PR) meeting was held in the NBF Hall on Tuesday in connection with the new guidelines issued by Government for GPDP and for reframing/scrutinise the schemes for the year 2015-20 and for final approval of DPC and for onward submission to the government.
Addressing the meeting, Chairman-cum-DC Tirap Ravi Jha, IAS, asking members to ensure that no villages are left devoid of any scheme urged them to include education sector during selection of such schemes and site of work for schemes are to be indicated clearly in the proposals.
He asked DPDO to initiate steps for formation of Monitoring Agency / Team to check execution of work.
Parliamentary Secretary Geology and Mining Tirong Aboh urged the PR leaders to play pro-active role for coordination among MLAs, PR Leaders and Government offices for larger development of the district.
He suggested that schemes related to power and water should also be incorporated during selection of schemes under GPDP.
Earlier, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Sontung Bangsia informed that the 1st Installment has already been released and utilised and after submission of the present proposals, 2nd Instalment for 2015-16 will be released by the Govt.
In his speech, Executive Engineer (PHED) Tage Nipa, said that proposal pertaining to water related scheme such as water storage tank has been proposed in the my village my development plan adding that such scheme may be proposed in consultation with PHED for better implementation of project.
Executive Engineer (Power), Deomali T Jerang, said that in order to avoid frequent power interruption due to heavy loads, Led bulb may be used instead of prevailing normal electric bulb as a part of energy conservation.
ADC cum member secretary Deomali-Soha, Bopai Puroik, Circle Officer, Asan Kri, ZPM Khonsa Block, Lengang Lowang, ASMC Ganwang Aran also spoke on the occasion.

Public leaders demand removal of Waii over alleged corruption
ITANAGAR, Dec 27: Leveling corruption charges against Minister for RWD & Home Kumar Waii, the public leaders of Bameng Assembly Constituency have demanded his immediate removal from the cabinet.
In a joint representation to the Chief Minister, the public leaders alleged rampant corruption in PMGSY project implementation in Bameng constituency allegedly done by the RWD Minister, when he was holding the post of Parliamentary Secretary (RWD), leading the project into shambles in the constituency.
They alleged favoritism and nepotism in awarding contract works, which according to them, was one of the main reasons for poor quality PMGSY projects in the state.
According to them, the PMGSY projects in Bameng Constituency, which need urgent inquiry, are Pake-Bameng-Layak road, Pake-Khenewa road, Pakke to Bameng Road, Road from 24 km point of Seppa-C/Tajo road - Londa, Sangbia camp- Pafa road, Bameng-Tayung Road, Khenewa-Nampe Road, Lengreriang-Effa Road, Richukrong- Sekang Road, 14 km point of Khenewa-Nampe-Safew Road and Sekong-Kojo road.
They also alleged demolition of a cooperative building at Bameng in a 'fraudulent' manner to pave way for construction of private residential building of the minister.
Meanwhile, sources close to the minister termed the allegation as unsubstantiated, totally false and fabricated and an attempt to malign the image of the minister.
APPDSSU objects to leasing out land to Patanjali
ITANAGAR, Dec 27: The All Pakke-Kessang Pijerang Dissing-Passo Seijosa Students' Union (APPDSSU) has strongly objected to the reported leasing out of large area of land in Seijosa to Patanjali Private Limited.
In a memorandum to the chief minister, APPDSSU claimed that around 3400 hectares (approx) of land within Seijosa and Dissing-Passo circle in East Kameng district were allegedly leased out to Patanjali Private Limited for setting up of Botanical Garden, which was published in two Assamese newspapers earlier this year.
The renowned Yoga guru and founder of Patanjali Private Limited Baba Ramdev along with Archarya Bal Krishna had also visited Seijosa on November 6 and met the local MLA, it claimed. The unofficial visit of the Yoga guru had created lot of suspicion among the people of the concern area.
The people of Seijosa and Dissing-Passo circles have not been issuing Land Possession Certificate (LPC) by the competent authority as Khellong Forest Division is not issuing any NOC for obtaining LPC by telling that the whole area of Seijosa and Dissing-Passo falls under Papum Reserve Forest, the students' union quoted the ZPM of 14th Seijosa as saying.
APPDSSU demanded the state government to unearth the fact behind the whole episode and also appealed to give strong directive to any private or government agencies not to implement the project without legality.
15th Tadar Tang State Level Football 2016
West Siang face Capital Complex in final today
ITANAGAR, Dec 27: West Siang will be up against defending champion Capital Complex in the title clash of the 15th Tadar Tang State Level Football Tournament tomorrow.
West Siang stormed into the final defeating Kra-Daadi 3-1 in a packed Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Naharlagun on Tuesday.
Kra-Daadi started strongly creating several scoring opportunities but some brilliant saves by goalkeeper kept Kra- Daadi attack at bay. West Siang supports erupted in joy when Nyamar Loyi scored from middle line in 42nd minute before Toni Ragyor made it 2-0. Toni scored in the second half through a strong left footed shot giving no chance to Kra Daadi goalkeeper.
Kra-Daadi was given a lifeline when they were awarded a penalty kick which was converted by Tarh Rajkumar in 73rd minute (2-1).
But a defensive lapse caused Kra Daadi dearly as Limar Loya scored in 80th minute to take 3-1 lead. Kra Daadi fought hard but West Siang keeper was at his best to foil all the attacks.
Capital Complex pipped Arunachal Pradesh Police by solitary goal in the second semifinal.
Both the teams started cautiously creating few scoring opportunities. The score remained 0-0 at halftime.
Capital Complex dominated the proceedings in the second half, but the team had wait until 80th minutes to find the breakthrough. Midfielder Gakir Dolum scored the all important goal after receiving a beautiful cross pass from team mate Akash Taw.
APP tried hard to restore parity in last ten minute but CC defenders stood rock solid and thwarted all attempts by APP.
The final match will start at 1.30 pm.
Teakwondo team for National School Games
ITANAGAR, Dec 27: Arunachal Pradesh Taekwondo team left for New Delhi on Tuesday to participate in the 62nd National School Games-2016 to be held from January 2 to 9.
Suraj Ali is Chef De Mission and Honi Yadar is the Coach.
Director of Secondary Education G Leij wished the team a safe and successful journey.
Tamin FC win Si-Donyi Football Trophy

ITANAGAR, Dec 27: Tamin FC won the Si-Donyi Football Trophy defeating Bagang Abu United 1-0 via penalty kick in the final at Dumporijo on Monday.
The match went to penalty shoot out after both the teams played out a goalless draw in regulation time.
Dumporijo ADC Otem Jamoh, who witnessed the final match, stressed the need for maintaining strict discipline and sportsman spirit by players. He also highlighted the importance of sports to stay physically fit and healthy.
Altogether, 30 teams participated in the tournament.
State Karate team for National School Games
ITANAGAR, Dec 27: Arunachal Karate-do Association (AKA) has selected 14-member team comprising seven boys and equal number of girls for the 62nd National School Games --2016-17 in Karate U-19 years to be held in Chhatrasal Stadium, Model Town, Delhi from January 2 to 9.
KAI certified Coach Rakesh Gamnu is the coach for the boys' team and Taw Punung is the coach for the girls' team.
Prakash Limbu and Mina Limbu are the boys and girls managers respectively.
The team left here for New Delhi on Tuesday night.

ATA reiterates demands
ITANAGAR, Dec 27: Arunachal Teachers' Association (ATA) led by its Vice President C K Yab and Secretary General Tani Hakom on Tuesday called on education minister Honchun Ngandam at his official residence for early redressal of their demands.
In view of the pen and tool down strike of AASSATA and ATA during the month of October state government had given written assurance to take up various grievances of the teaching community within three months however two months have passed and apart from the demand for Gazette status for PGT's, we haven't witnessed any substantial progress towards our legitimate grievances, they expressed.
The association have been demanding complete bifurcation of Elementary & Secondary Education department at District & Block level with creation of DDEE & DDSE, Creation of Secondary Education Officer (SEO) posts, Creation of Principal, HM/VP post for all newly upgraded Secondary and Higher secondary schools, Single Entry Grade of teachers i.e. PRT for Elementary Education and TGT for Secondary Education department, Immediate notification of BEO RR among others.
'Dry Days' in West Siang
AALO, Dec 27: West Siang District Magistrate has declared December 31 and January 1 next as dry days in the district. This prohibitory order was necessitated in view of the coming New Year celebration.
All commercial outlets of Indian made foreign liquor/beer retailer have been strictly directed to keep their shops closed under lock and keys on specified days and violation of the order will be viewed seriously and prosecuted under appropriate section of law, the order read.
It was also informed that strict vigil will also be kept by the Magistrate and police along with the members of the Mothers' Vision on both the specified days. (DIPRO)
Traders urged to help Wakka fire victims
ITANAGAR, Dec 27: Arunachal Chamber of Commerce & Industries (ACCI), as an affiliated body of CII has appealed to the business community of the state to extend help to the fire victims of Wakka
ACCI spokesman Toko Tatung (Prakash), in a release, said that the traders should come forward at this time of crisis.
Meanwhile, ACCI has appreciated Press fraternity for launching donation drive to extend help to the fire victims.
Phosum calls for regular maintenance of Mini hydel
ITANAGAR, Dec 27: Parliamentary Secretary for Hydropower, Phosum Khimhun on Monday last directed the field officers to carry out necessary maintenance work at 400 KW Tissu Mini Hydro Station in Changlang district before the onset of monsoon to ensure maximum output from the Hydel station.
Khimhun, who was accompanied by HPD, AE, J Bam, Electrical AE, G Bangyang, staffs and residents of Nechang village, had earlier inspected the power channel, approach road and power house of the said hydel station. He also inspected the electrification of nearby piggery farm.
Aruni nominated for KCG Award 2016
ITANAGAR, Dec 27: IMC Councillor and educational service provider, Higio Aruni has been nominated for the prestigious Krishna Chandra Gandhi (KCG) Award for the year 2016. The award has been instituted by the Purvottar Janajati Shiksha Samiti (PJSS), Guwahati in 2007, to be conferred every year to eminent persons who make remarkable contributions in the socio-cultural and educational sectors in the North Eastern region.
Aruni has been nominated for the award in recognition of her pioneering endeavors in the fields of women welfare activities, educational services as well as preservation and promotion of the indigenous faith and cultural traditions of Arunachal Pradesh.
Ban liquor shops within 500 metre of NH: ADSDC
ITANAGAR, Dec 27: The Arunachal Dry State Demand Committee (ADSDC) has called for banning liquor shops within 500 metres of National Highway 415 from Banderdewa to Chimpu by Dec 31. The committee has written to the chief secretary in this regard.
Citing the Supreme Court of India judgment on ban of liquor shops within 500 metres of national and state highways on Dec 15 last, the committee said that though the Supreme Court order is to effect from April 1st 2017 it insisted that the order be implemented immediately in the state since the festive season is on.
Conduct DPC: Union
ITANAGAR, Dec 27: The All Arunachal Pradesh Public Health Engineering & Water Supply Department Workers' Union (AAPPHE&WSDWU) has demanded for holding DPC by January 2017 for the vacant posts in PHE&WS Aalo Division.
In its representation to the chief engineer, eastern zone, it claimed that there are 24 vacant posts in the division following retirement of employees.
The union further warned that it would take up tool down strike if the demand is not fulfilled.
Traditional Dance and Drama Competitions held at Tezu
ITANAGAR, Dec 27: Pomliang Village became the winner while Tafrogam Village stood second in the Circle Level Traditional Dance Competition on Sunday with a cash prize of Rs 6000/- and Rs 4000/- respectively. Organized by Vivekananda Kendra, Tezu, Arunachal Pranta as part of Samarth Bharat Parva at Tamla-Du hall Tezu, Tafrogam village also bagged first position in Traditional Drama Competition.
The best team/performer in Circle Level in both Drama and Dance will take part in the District Level competition on January 12, 2017.

Through your esteemed daily, I would like to put my view regarding the result of written exam of PGT and TGT Ref. Advertisement vide NoED.2/DSE/290/APT/2015 dated 10th Sept’2015 of Department of Education, Arunachal Pradesh.
Many candidates who have qualified as well as who didn’t make it to the viva-
For example the number of vacant post in TGT (Accountancy) as per advertisement is
05 but the selected number for viva-
We all know that there was a lot of confusion in this recruitment and now when we thought that everything is clear, this negligence by the authority in selecting as per the said ratio is creating more confusion and the department seems unsuccessful in gaining the faith of the candidates as well as the citizens.

Dear Editor,
This is to draw your kind attention that the decision to recruit JEs by the WRD Department
is a clear violation of all the provisions of laid down rules and procedures. As
per Arunachal Pradesh Service Limitation Act 1988 as well as the directives of Ministry
of Personnel and Grievances Act GOI which Arunachal Pradesh had adopted way back
in 2009 under the signature of the then former CS Tabom Bam, all posts with Pay
Scale of above Rs. 9200/-
Departments of the State are unable to conduct any Written Exam in free and fair manner in recent years. Many a time candidates indulge in cheating, copying, canvassing in the exam hall and deprive the chances of industrious, sincere and honest candidates. Our Departments heads never consider about conducting Qualifying exam and then formal Written Exam. On the other hand, they set below standard Question Papers and allows all kinds of cheating, copying, and canvassing. Such acts sabotage the principle of merit.
it is high time to ponder upon conduct of open competition in two Divisions consisting of candidates from APL family of advanced Tezu, Pasighat, Aalo, Ziro, Papum Pare and Bomdila in one circle and candidates from BPL family of 1st division as well as candidates from rest of developing districts in other circle. Such a step will leverage the spirit of Equality of Opportunity in widest sense and then the Right to Equality. But our Secretaries, the State Cabinet and high level Official never love to frame such a tactful policies rather they are happy with one time relaxation of RR rules or stick to outdated RR rules framed in 1980s.
I would like to request our CM to take the needful step and cancel the entire exercise of WRD Dept and hand over the JEs post to APPSC for early recruitment process.

As three Chief Engineers are retiring by 2017, the posts can be done away with once they retire.
The subordinate posts under these offices may be shifted to newly created three PWD Circle offices at Tawang, Daporijo and Khonsa.
Mizoram and Meghalaya PWD have three Chief Engineers each while Manipur, Assam, Tripura and Nagaland have two each.
